                       Other postal markings, used before and after 1933, include
                   the boxed Registration Cachet (Type 15) which was in use from 1886
                  to 1908. The rather unusual square Registration Label (Type 16) is

                  only recorded in 1912; that part which is illustrated had been severed

  >.               from the complete label which, in its original form, had another ‘box’
  4               to the right containing a strike of the same hand-stamp, but no number.
  $               Bahrain was later provided with blank numbered Registration Labels on
                  which various hand-stamps were used .. as in Type 16 (Seen 1919),
 M                Type 17 (Seen 1931), Type 18 (Seen 1930 34, before and after the
                  introduction of the overprinted stamps) and Type 19 (Seen 1942—48).
                  Type 19 was often impressed directly on to registered covers between
                   1946 and 1948.

                        The Postage Due cachet (Type 20) was rarely used.

                                THE PAKISTAN ADMINISTRATION
                        The administration of the Bahrain Post Office, under the control
                   of Karachi, was taken over from India by the Government of Pakistan
                   following Partition in August 1947. Although Indian stamps over­
                   printed “PAKISTAN” at Nasik were not placed on sale in Bahrain, two
