• Technical chair of the Northwest Lake County Wholesale Sewer Advisory Committee, consisting of eleven sanitary

regional sewer system.

Modernized a founding WEF Member Association (MA) of 1,500 water professionals in the states of Illinois, Wisconsin and
Minnesota. Manage a large diverse Executive Committee consisting of engineers, utility managers, YPs, acadmics and vendors.
Provide networking and training opportunities for engineers, utility managers, operators, vendors, manufacturers and
academics focused on highly technical resource recovery treatment technologies and advancements in the industry. Increased
value to membership through additional training programs. Brought young professionals (YPs) into the MA and improved
organizational diversity. Empowered committees so they could create more educational and networking opportunities.
Managed exponential event/activity growth without increasing staffing levels or operational budget.
Association Growth Strategy
• Conducted market study, developed and implemented a strategic growth plan endorsed by the Executive Committee
• Increased attendance at events by 30% within six months of implementation
• Increased number of networking and education events from 10 per year to over 40 per year
Operator Certification Program
• Developed a CSWEA operator certification program with 13 workshops

GLOBAL WATER STEWARDSHIP | FOUNDER/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/VOLUNTEER
Crystal Lake, Illinois | 2014 - Present
Developed the vision and founded the first global NGO focused on sanitation and bringing sustainable centralized wastewater
treatment to developing countries per the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Established strategic alliances in Costa Rica with
AyA (national water & wastewater agency of 2,000 employees). Provided vision, tools and resources for young and seasoned
professionals from CSWEA and other MAs to utilize their knowledge, talent and skills to educate, exchange and provide technical
expertise to Costa Rican youth, water administrators, operators and engineers. Developed Spanish workshops and
presentations for operator and engineer training and youth education. Work with US Embassy to create business opportunities
for CSWEA firms for resource recovery projects.
Developed design competition that provides university students an opportuinty to evaluate community needs and develop
designs for centralized collection and resource recovery systems. Grown organization from an idea to approximately 50
volunteers with ongoing projects in six (6) communities and a Spanish based education program on wastewater topics for AyA
operators and engineers and children in schools throughout Costa Rica. Challenged a risk averse industry to grow in novel ways
with little financial or liability risk. Developed a financial fundraising and donor base to allow for GWS to be fully sustainable.
Established the Water Stewardship Award to recognize individuals that provide humanitarian assistance in the water sector.
