RFL: Deron lef the utilities industry after 20 years of service to help his family with a
business, which is now closing. He is looking to get back into the workforce.
Overall:
Deron worked for American Water for 20 years, most recently as President of their
Indiana district. American Water is the largest investor owned utility in the United States,
essentially functioning as a public water district where there isn't one. With Indiana
American Water, Deron had responsibility for a $1B budget, with 369 people under his
supervision. He had great insights in improving process and in dealing with political
environments. His experience included interfacing with elected officials in the districts he
ran, including the Tennessee House of Representatives. Deron came across as a leader,
and would be an interesting candidate to consider further.
