to the Board but previously we would bring everything to the Board.

     5. Please describe your management experience and your approach to employee development and evaluation. (as a
follow up if needed: Describe the most challenging human resources issue you have faced.)

Management experience - my only direct report is Jerod Vasco - we work together on various projects. In terms of devel-
opment, I think the most important thing is following the style that Bobbi has laid forth. It is really important that every-
one feels that they have been heard and that you get a variety of perspectives. In terms of managing people, I do that
with our membership and make sure that we are facilitating that and that we have a good pipeline in there. Making them
active. In terms of development, I think that open door is the best policy, but I like to make sure that people are doing
what they enjoy and are really passionate about. If Jerod would gravitate towards an issue or area, I would like to some
extent let them lead that process.

     6. Please describe your experience in coordinating, tracking and reporting out on the implementation of organizational
     goals, objectives, policies and procedures.

Every year since I've been here for 6 or 7 years where we get together with the Board members - here are the big ticket
items, into business plan items. I have been involved in every step of the process along the way. Recently - it has been
that we present strategic planning ideas to the Board and then convert those strategic plan items into specific items. I
have been involved in every part of that process for the last six years with the Board.

The way that we do that is through out business plan items that have been approved by the Board. It is essentially an
extended checklist - every month the Board will see our updates. If there is a major milestone we will report out to the
Board. We do that pretty regularly throughout the year. In terms of legislative procedures - we just finished our staff
manual update. All of the policy procedure side of things - I have been a part of that.

     7. The Executive Director will work closely with other state and regional organizations, with the legislature and regulatory
agencies. Please describe a time that you have been instrumental to change and had to work with external stakeholders
     in accomplishing this change.

I can give you a variety of circumstances. Maybe I will give you the highlights of each. On the regulatory side there have
a been a number of high profile issues that we have dealt with involving regional associations, state associations. I'm
typically the point person on setting things up with staff as well as individual agency members. I typically draft the policy
letters and set them up for review. There was the enforcement policy a few years ago. A whole variety of other topics
that pop up and address them. On the regulatory side, those are some examples of doing that. Before she was here
there were a couple of big deals - there was a biosolids litigation ban - when I was an attorney with CASA I developed the
original version of a bill dealing with ocean discharge bans - I including the chamber of commerce and getting them all on
the same page and getting them to sign off on legislation. Approving that side of things.

     8. Describe your experience with membership-based organizations and your approach to working with them. How do
you evaluate whether an association is providing a good level of customer service to its members? What do you feel are
some of the challenges to achieving a high level of customer service?
