RECRUITMENT RETENTION
To attract the best, you have to be the best. Like all healthcare organizations, Michigan Medicine recognizes
that nurse recruitment and retention require equally innovative and strategic focus to ensure a stable, high-
performing nursing workforce. In FY25, remarkable progress was made, with a significant reduction in the
number of open nursing positions and a nurse RN termination rate at its lowest point in the past decade. This
achievement reflects Michigan Medicine’s commitment to enhancing resources, offering expanded
professional development opportunities, providing competitive wages, and fostering a supportive work
culture.
Looking forward, strategic expansions in the new Pavilion and other areas will create continued opportunities
for creative and focused growth, positioning Michigan Nursing to meet future challenges and sustain
excellence in patient care.
