NURSING AT MICHIGAN EXCELLENCE AWARDS

HONORING OUR AWARD WINNING NURSES

University of Michigan Health is fortunate to have extraordinary nurses. We were grateful to have the ability to honor some of those nurses with
the fourth annual Nursing Excellence Awards.
The program included ten awards that recognized our nurses for exemplary care, compassion, and dedication to the profession and two awards
that honored an outstanding Allied Health Partner and Physician Partner. Award recipients were chosen by an independent selection committee,
based on evidence provided that fulfilled specified nomination criteria. The stories shared about these amazing staff members showed how
committed they are to their professions and the care of patients and families.

Each recipient was awarded, during national Nurses Week in May, with a surprise ceremony on their unit with a personalized glass award,
nomination pin, and bouquet of flowers-- to be followed up later by a cash award and customized scrub jacket or lab coat. These short
ceremonies were recorded and compiled to be viewed online by the public.
This event culminated at an awards banquet held at Webers Hotel and Conference Center. It was a beautiful event and included the award
recipient, a guest, and a leader from their area of practice.
We are grateful for the generous donors who support this program, and enable us to recognize outstanding nurses.
