Cambridge Technical Level 3 Certificate / Introductory Diploma

Cambridge Technicals are vocational qualifications that provide pupils with the opportunity
to demonstrate and develop the practical application of knowledge and understanding
in sport. This will enable each pupil to develop their research skills as they work, both in
class and through independent learning. The qualification will be taught over two years with
task/coursework-based assessments implemented throughout its delivery. The course is
structured to enable learners to gain a qualification at their own pace and build on their
achievements. No exams are required for pupils to achieve the Cambridge Technical
Sport qualifications.
There are four mandatory units in the level 3 Certificate of Sport:
• Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport
• Sports Coaching
• Current Issues in Sport
• The Physiology of Fitness
Learners may wish to extend their programme of learning to gain the Introductory Diploma
through the study of four additional units.
Entry requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements for these qualifications.
