Photography
(OCR)
To take Photography pupils will need to demonstrate a degree of the following:
• Independence of mind in developing own ideas
• An interest and enthusiasm for photography
• Experience working with a camera, digital and/or traditional and new media and
technologies
• An ability to interpret and record from real life
• An understanding of the history of photography and critical thinking
Assessment of the A level will be based on the following:
Ability to develop ideas, explore and select resources, record ideas and present a personal
and meaningful response.
A level Photography will comprise of the following:
• One Personal Investigation (practical portfolio) with a written component of 1000 words.
(60 % of total A level);
• One externally set task that can be given at any point after the 1st January, which will
involve a 15 hour supervised exam. (40% of total A level)
This is a two year A level course only.
