which were with Him heard these words, and said unto Him, ‘Are we blind also?’
The Lord Jesus said unto them, ‘If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye
say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.’” (John 9: 39 – 41)
The Holy Spirit’s revelation of what the Lord Jesus meant when He said, “If ye were
blind, ye should have no sin, but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.”
The self righteous and self pride of these religious leaders prevented them from
believing that the Lord Jesus was the Son of God. Their sins could only be removed
from them if they receive the Lord Jesus as their Jewish Messiah. Since they did not
their sins remain unto them, because their sins would not be covered by the
redemptive blood of the Lord Jesus through salvation.
“We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence
He is. The man that was blind answered and said unto them, ‘Why herein is a
marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence He is, and yet He hath opened mine
eyes. Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of
God, and doeth His will, him He heareth. Since the world began was it not heard that
any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. If this man were not of God, he
could do nothing.’ They answered and said unto him, ‘Thou wast altogether born in
sins, and dost thou teach us?’ And they cast him out.” (John 9:29 – 34)
This is the Holy Spirit’s revelation of what the man that was blind said, to the self
righteous religious leaders. It should be noted that this man that was born blind was
also an illiterate; this man could not communicate with anyone while he was blind
about any given subject let alone how he was totally healed from the darkness of his
world. The words that this blind man spoke that day were not his words, but they
were the words of the Holy Spirit trying once again to reach the spiritual Hearts of
the blind religious self righteous leaders; that was preventing them to understand and
see that the Lord Jesus was and is the Son of God sent from Heaven.
Chapter 10
“1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, ‘He that entereth not by the door into the
sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But
he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the porter
openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and
leadeth them out. 4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them,
and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5 And a stranger will they not
follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.’ 6 This
parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were
which he spake unto them. 7 Then said Jesus unto them again, ‘Verily, verily, I say
unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are thieves
and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door: by me if any man
