Historic buildings, in my opinion, need to be preserved and restored. People are attached
to their history. Revolutions, inventions, declarations-all have been affiliated with the area
where the ancestors lived. Some countries have even made elaborate arrangements to
preserve the historical sites. For example, Japan has come up with good machinery for
mobility to move historical buildings with great care, so that they remain intact. This may
inspire other countries to think of something similarly creative to conserve the historical
monuments in their territory.
Finally, our history defines us, and removing it from among us would entail the burning of
a crucial fraction of our identity. Therefore, instead of shying away from our history, we
should take great pride in it and try to coexist peacefully with it.
