SOLID SINNETS
3049. The edges of this one are more prominent.
3050. The t~ture here has been doubled by the introduction of
additional strands. Any of the other diagrams may have their texture
doubled in a similar manner. Moreover any may have their edges
accented by adding an extra strand at each corner as in 'I/: 3049.
3051, 3052. These are worked as the others.
30.5"}
If a sinnet is not sufficiently compact when first tied, which is very likely
to happen, particularly when making the larger ones, they may be easily
worked over, along their length, with a pricker, first tightening all the
even strands in sequence and then tightening the odd ones. This is not so
arduous a task as might appear, although it may take a little while before
the knack is acquired.
3053, 3054. In these diagrams, for the first time a strand from an
305"4
odd-numbered space is led to an even-numbered space, and a strand
from an even-numbered space is led to an odd-numbered space.
But having once departed from a space, that space should be forgotten
and the new space approached in the manner that is peculiar to it, and
which has already been described. The tension of SINNET 'I/: 3057 should
be handled carefully. The texture differs from anything that has hereto-
fore been shown.
