4.18 Adjustable Grip Latch
Chapter 4: Removal, Replacement, and Adjustment Procedures

4. Using a 5/32" hex wrench, turn the lock (A) counterclockwise to back the
latch (B) down.

5. Using an 11/16" wrench, loosen the nut (C) that holds the assembly to the
door.

6. Remove the nut (C) and the lockwasher (D) by sliding them down and
around the latch (B).

7. Remove the lock (A) and latch (B) from the front panel (F).

Replacement

1. Place the washer (E) over the latch (B) on the new adjustable grip latch.

2. Put the latch (B) and washer (E) into the slotted hole on the front panel (F)
with the latch facing upwards.

3. Slide the lockwasher (D) and the nut (C) over the latch (B).

4. Using an 11/16" wrench, tighten the nut (C) that holds the assembly to the
door.

5. Close the front panel (F).

6. Using a 5/32" hex wrench, rotate the lock (A) clockwise until it no longer
turns.

7. To ensure proper operation, perform the “Function Checks” on page 2-5.
