                               Rates of pay




                               From April 2018, the National Living Wage
                               (NLW) will be £7.83 an hour for workers aged
                               25 and older. The National Minimum Wage
                               (NMW) will still apply for workers aged 24
                               and under. It is important that the NLW and
                               NMW rules aren’t breached as there can be
                               some serious consequences if you do this.

                               to do with travel time and sleeping in time, being on call or making deductions

                               Hours of work



                                                  Workers have the right to things like:
                                                  •      Work no more than 48 hours per week on average,

                                                      unless they have opted out voluntarily in writing
                                                  •     11 hours consecutive rest in any 24 hour period and

                                                      one whole day off a week
                                                  •      A rest break of at least 20 minutes for every six hours
                                                      worked.
