A L OVELY LUNCH ON THE PORCH
By Rashawnda Atkinson
Last month, the Seniors Committee hosted
a casual get-together with a gourmet lunch
catered by the Watergate Market and Café.
The weather was sunny with a gentle
breeze and the service from the Market’s
staff was top-notch. Featuring recipes from
WAL resident Stephanie Lowe, the menu
consisted of an apple-and-kiwi white san-
gria, a delicious chilled zucchini soup,
croissants stuffed with chicken salad and a
tomato-onion salad. The piece-de-
resistance was the rum-soaked Bundt cake
which was to die for!
Residents and guests chatted the hour or so
away and enjoyed the perfect backdrop to a
mid-spring afternoon on the Lower Terrace
by the pool. Don’t miss the next Lunch on
the Porch event!
The Seniors Committee meets the first
Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m. in the Ter- Cheers to a lovely day overlooking the Outdoor Pool while enjoying the apple-and-
race Lounge. Come out to the next meeting! kiwi white sangria with friends and neighbors.
