 Attach the yarn to the hook and dc around the hair tie, approximately 60 stitches. The more stitches you squeeze together on the hair tie, the chunkier and wavier the scrunchie will be. Slip stitch to close the round.
 1dc in each stitch around. Add in some treble crochet stitches. 2tr in each stitch around. Slip stitch to close round and fasten off, weaving in the ends.
Crochet is very forgiving on small projects. It’s a bit like building with Lego – you can make it up as you go along, adjusting stitches if you need to.
Stitch markers are a must-have, especially when working in the round. They’ll save you a lot of counting and unravelling if you lose concentration!
If you don’t have toy stuffing for the beads, you can use the wool you are crocheting with to stuff the beads instead.
