Career Skills & Personal Finance (MS & HS) - Career Skills & Personal Finance- (high
school) Curriculum used: Ramsey's Foundations in Personal Finance: High School Edition.
Students will also learn about paychecks, W-9 & W-2 forms, interviewing, resumes, taxes,
insurance, buying/financing a car, identity theft and more. Five Take-Charge Cats
presentations will be interspersed. Participation in the Arizona Financial Face-off (Personal
Finance- focused competition) is optional. You can find more information about this program
on the UA website. Consumable workbook $18 Instructor: Pending
Entrepreneurship/Kick Start Your Business! (MS & HS) – This course will have the sole
focus to help students get their business started using entrepreneurship tools used by real
startups! Students will learn through project-based activities including utilizing the Lean
Canvas, creating a Marketing Plan, Financial planning, Pitching your business, and more.
Outside of class, there will be opportunities for students to sell at the Christmas market and/or
participate in a Pitch Competition. Instructor: Mariana Eubanks, UA MIS/Operations
Management/Entrepreneurship Major. She has participated in several Start Up Incubators
and Accelerators with Innovate UA and Start Up Tucson.
