                       IN HIS OWN WORDS

an you draw what you see? Was the question asked of us college
Cstudents back in the mid seventies. Those art sessions were gru-
eling and demanding with not many “keepers” to bring home from
class. At times our “sidewalk” art exhibits were truly a starving art-
ist’s nightmare. As time progressed, capturing what I saw became less
difficult and as well, my works became a little easier on the eyes. So
now here in retirement I’m picking up those old habits again. To be
honest I was always sketching and drawing, everything and everyone,
classmates, cars, and trees. I remember sending in countless sketches
for the art courses advertised in the back of popular magazines way
back in the day. Had hopes even then of starting an art career. So now
after landing in Eagle Point, the natural thing to do is paint again. Now
during this Covid period my artistic legs are back. Much of my art has
been displayed in clubs, galleries, and businesses throughout Southern
Oregon, and even in my home town in central California.
