WHAT’S NEW

              CALLAHAN’S MOUNTAIN LODGE
NEW OWNERS TO HONOR AND EXPAND

                    HISTORIC LODGE LEGACY

n early September, Mark and Lisa Cleaner assumed ownership of Callahan’s
IMountain Lodge. Over their 35 years of marriage the couple has operated
several family owned businesses. They plan to continue Callahan’s legacy as
a destination for relaxation and comfort in the heart of Southern Oregon.
“We want our guests to feel at home, whether they are here for a wedding, a
weekend getaway, or simply for dinner,” says Mark Cleaner.

Given their family’s rural lifestyle and love of the outdoors, the lodge’s rustic
charm attracted them. They intend to draw on its mountain elegance while
modernizing the look and feel of the rooms and lodge with possible ameni-
ties such as a fitness center, business kiosk, outdoor spa, and an expanded
entertainment calendar. Executive Chef Kevin Broadie, an Ashland native and
University of Oregon alumnus, is onboard to oversee the restaurant and bar.
His admiration for the Basque region of northern Spain inspires the lodge’s
cuisine, putting a pan-Latin influence on hearty classics and seasonal dishes.
One special dinner item is the Lodge Burger served with Orange Salt Fries.

Callahan’s Mountain Lodge is a family-owned, pet-friendly lodge and res-
taurant in Ashland, will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2022. Callahan’s
includes a lounge, a full-service restaurant and bar, a banquet room, plus
23 guest rooms, each with a two-person spa tub and most with a wood
         burning fireplace.
