                    REMOTION TASTING ROOM

                   OPENS IN JACKSONVILLE

en and Lori Grable recently opened a tasting room in Jacksonville,
Bwhere you will find tasting flights, wine by the glass or bottle, and
small plates (cheese, charcuterie, olives, fruit, fresh bread). Outside
food is welcome, and guests may enjoy indoor or outdoor seating.

Lori says, “Our focus is making small lots of premium Rogue Valley
sourced wines that highlight the unique terroir of the area. We work
closely with our growers and are firm believers that great wines are
grown in the vineyard.” They produce single vineyard, single varietal
wines, but don’t shy away from nontraditional blends.

Ben and Lori met at college in Santa Barbara, their love for wine and
each other growing together. While in Pennsylvania for Ben’s job, they
purchased a giant iron winepress that had been in an Italian family for
generations, and for eight seasons they made a variety of wines with
imported California grapes, gaining a passion for Italian wine varieties
          along the way.

In 2012, they settled in the Rogue Valley. Ben completed the oenol-
ogy and viticulture certificate program through UC Davis in 2017
and worked as a harvest intern with Bryan Wilson at Dancin. In 2018
Remotion was born, their first harvest as an officially licensed winery.

They define Remotion (which contains “emotion” and “motion”) as
departure. Taste and smell allow us to be strongly connected to distant SPRING IS IN THE AIR!
memories we may not even realize we have. A wine’s sensory experi-
ence can offer a departure from your present place and time and remind We Welcome You to Jacksonville
you of an experience, emotion or even a wine you’ve tasted before.
Our lives, as well as the life of a wine, are constantly in motion. It is
this motion that brings us to each other, new experiences and pushes us
toward excitement and personal growth. A wine’s life and development
is very similar. • Wine tasting
