NEW CREATIVE OUTLET IN PHOENIX
NW CERAMICS STUDIO
RECENTLY OPENED
eff Edwards and Liz O’brien, father and daughter ceramicists,
Jrecently opened NW Ceramics in Phoenix. While hesitant about
opening a studio during a pandemic, they agreed about the need for
creative outlet during this stressful time. They have repeatedly seen,
through their students, the therapeutic value of art to help ease stress
and anxiety. With appropriate Covid-safe precautions in place to create
a safe environment, they offer small group youth classes. Children—and
adults—need art and socialization as part of their lives.
Between teaching sessions, they work on their own pottery. Jeff appreci-
ates the endless possibilities of clay and the individuality behind each
piece, while Liz works on functional pottery and is inspired by modern
forms and her travels.
They are selling gift cards in the studio and online.
