CASCADIA AXE COMPANY
PASSION FOR AXES, FUN, AND COMMUNITY
outhern Oregon has a new active-lifestyle option
Sfor adults in Cascadia Axe Company, located in
the front industrial complex at 5681 Crater Lake
Highway. They offer axe throwing, a blacksmithing
workshop (soon open to the public for classes), and
an ever-changing selection of beers and cider.
Stop by for a throwing session. For those not wanting to
throw sharp objects, however, there’s table space to play a
board game or simply enjoy local artwork and woodwork,
or watch the action from the viewing deck. Bring a sack
lunch or have dinner delivered—hang out with friends, or
make new friends. With a concern for safety around sharp
objects, they do not serve hard alcohol, and limit the beer
and cider.
Husband and wife team Bird and Kyle Durrant founded
Cascadia Axe Company, marrying their passions for local
fare, art, and some old-fashioned Nordic-style fun. The
couple has deep roots in Southern Oregon and deeper
roots in the art and food community.
Kyle designed the front counter, and other artisans con-
tributed to a space replete with artifacts of the Cascadia
thank yy bio-region. They’ve partnered with local supply sources,
and use 80% recycled or reclaimed materials. The beers,
ciders, CBD sodas, and non-alcoholic beverages feature
several Medford-based businesses. The facility also offers
local artists and tradesmen a venue to showcase their
work, some available for purchase.
In the future, you can expect artisan knife sales, black-
smithing courses, and bespoke handcrafted axes.
