MUSIC PICK
IMBALANCES
MICAH MCCAW
ocal musician Micah McCaw’s second album, Imbalances released
Lin March. A guitar driven rock album, Imbalances deals with issues
of leading an unbalanced life. “Whether that is working too much, put-
ting too much hope in politics, and just not putting your faith and fam-
ily first,” McCaw says. It's fairly autobiographical and was cathartic for
him to understand why he tends to put his music above everything else.
“It’s good to believe in your art and your dreams, but sometimes we've
been taught that nothing else matters.” His lyrics invite listeners to ask
themselves hard questions, just as he has.
The album was recorded over two weeks in February 2019, then
produced with extra tracks throughout the mixing process, with the
focus being on how to translate the album into live shows. The album
features Chris Heisner on bass, Andrew John Lee Tevis on drums, and
Jeremy Oliveria, producer/mixer.
Imbalances is available on Spotify, Soundcloud, Patreon.com/micahm-
ccaw, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and anywhere music is found.
