DISTRICT ACTION GROUP ON ROTARY KASIH

ROTARY KASIH ---- A LIFE TRANSFORMATION PROGRAMME

The Rotary Kasih programme is a joint effort by Rotary International District 3300, and My Kasih Foundation whereby for every Ringgit Malaysia Rotary contributes; My Kasih
Foundation matches the contribution with another Ringgit Malaysia, to double the number of beneficiaries.

Rotary Kasih is a Student Life Transformation Programm(SLTP) for underprivileged school children where Rotary Clubs in Rotary International District 3300, Malaysia
together with My Kasih Foundation provide bursary for school children from poverty stricken families. Rotary Kasih was officially launched by Past RI President Gary Huang
in November,2014.

The programme started in January 2015 where Rotary and My Kasih together committed almost RM2 million since the programme first started. The 5 year old
programme gives school children debit cards with a capped amount to swipe at their school canteen and bookshop to purchase food, drinks and basic school
essentials. This SLTP Programme has so far been a success because of the continuous, generous and selfless support that we have been receiving from the various Rotary
Clubs, Individual Rotarians and the donors. .

The Rotary Kasih programme among others includes various supporting activities that help the children to perform better in schools such as school examination
clinics, medical camps, motivational Rotary Kasih Fun Day, providing free spectacles and exposure through educational visit to Kidzania and many others. The children’s
performance is monitored closely with the help from head of schools and teachers. There has been significant improvements in the children’s performance and we hope that
with the continuous commitment and efforts, the children will continue to unleash their best interests .We are also seeing a growing, healthy and a positive trend among some
of our Interact Schools supporting the Rotary Kasih beneficiaries.

The Rotary Kasih Committee is actively pursuing discussions with some of the Tertiary Colleges/ Universities as well as some TVET Centres within Malaysia to provide full
Scholarships to our Rotary Kasih students to continue their studies which will indeed be the culmination of our Students Life Transformation when the Students graduate
from the Universities.

MyKasih Foundation is a charity organisation that aims to help underprivileged Malaysians through food aid and education. The uniqueness of the MyKasih program is in
the technology that drives its welfare distribution. The MyKasih ‘Love My Neighbourhood’ food aid program and the MyKasih ‘Love My School’ student bursary
scheme run on an efficient cashless payment system which uses the chip technology of the Malaysian identity card, the MyKad, and MyKasih smartcard, to disburse
welfare aid to target beneficiaries. Rotary Clubs interested to participate in this Programme may contact any member of the Rotary Kasih Committee for assistance.
