• Leaning on the podium or table while talking
Donal Trump looks nervous because he is trying to hold the podium.
Dealing with questions
• Repeat each question
To repeat the question has many advantages. The first is to make others hear the question
and know what you are asked for. The next one is to clarify the question for yourself to answer
the question. The last thing is to make time for you to think about the answer.
• Always be respectful
• Avoid long one-on-one discussions
Because long one-on-one discussions will make others feel like you are not talking to
them and this shows disrespect to other audiences.
• Finish your answer by asking the person who asked that your answer was sufficient
enough?
You can ask the person who asks you to make sure that you answer their question eg.
Did I answer your question?
• Do not be defensive
Do not be defensive by just answer “I don’t know”
• Always give an answer even if it’s “ I don’t know.”
The key point is do not blame yourself. It is not your fault if you do not know the answer.
No research is perfect, it always has something that is beyond what that research will
address. A lot of times the questions are beyond the study.
