Ruck rover Troy Dryden and centre half-forward Ahmed Taleb tried to lift the Magpies.

The reigning premiers may have pushed the self-destruction button.

They play likely grand finalists Spotswood (home) and St Albans (away) next.

Barbuto insists the Magpies can beat the Woodsmen.

They are expected to be strengthened by the inclusion of two Williamstown reserves players.”

                                                 Welcome back Braybrook!

                                                    By Michael Sinclair

That's the message in Western Region Football League circles after the club's miraculous against-
the-odds win over Parkside at the Pennell Reserve.

The Brookers are sitting just outside of the top five after a gutsy five-point win over the reigning
               premiers and third-placed Parkside.

And the win was even sweeter with club stalwart, Tom "Banger" Danksin pulling on the boots for the
               250th time.

Club administrator, Michael Bouchaud, is describing the game as one of the more important ones of
               the season.

"The celebrations were pretty wild, and the boys were definitely fired up to play for Tommy's
milestone game," an ecstatic Bouchaud said.

"It's definitely the win of the year to date."

Bouchaud praised the "terrific" efforts of dashing forward John Sammut and wingman Lee Braun,
who shone as playmakers for the Brookers.

Recent arrivals Simon Folley and Justin Richardson, gained many possessions, and goal-machine Bill
Ramsey (six) continues to stave off a troublesome knee injury that has confined him to the goal
               square in recent weeks.
