The Twelfth Dynasty: The country stabilized, security was
established, the arts flourished, and it was called the period of
prosperity, as the country witnessed internal and external
prosperity.

Amenemhat I: The founder of the 12th Dynasty. He was of a
Nubian mother and settled in Thebes. He had a good relationship
with the regional rulers. He moved the capital from Thebes to
Lisht (belonging to the Giza Governorate). He proved his
legitimacy to rule the country through a legend. He recorded it in
Neferti Papyrus. He secured the southern and western borders. He
fought the Asians and built several fortifications on the eastern
border. He built his pyramid group in Lisht and built several
temples in other places. He appointed his son as crown prince
when he had spent 20 years in power, and his son shared the rule
with him for 10 years. At the end of his life, he was exposed to a
