An extract from Daly’s email after he had watched the full video revealed he had found
the video emotionally evocative also, while also suggesting the video be shortened and
segmented into various elements:
‘Paudie does a powerful job as ever and this is most evident in the final video sequence
where the motivating visuals are backed up by the equally motivating aural sound track.
At a time when things are being condensed - videos in particular - into more concise
segments - 25 minutes is very long by today's standards - it would be worthwhile
looking at 10 x 2.5 minute video sequences which would capture the essence of the

4.4.11 A Third Iteration
Considering the feedback, I decided to split the video up into its constituent elements
and have each element re-edited to emphasise the emotional impact and to ensure it was
as concise as possible.
A further inspiration for a new iteration of my video production was prompted by my
colleague and MEME Programme peer David Sweeney. He showed me an online
interactive video interview with Sir Ian McKellen as seen in (Figure 4.11). The
production allowed the viewer to choose from prescribed questions, that when clicked
