September Library Events:
● The Waynesville Library Book Club The first Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. to discuss
books chosen by each member (taking turns) and provided by the library! In September the book
club will be meeting on September 10. If you are interested in joining, please contact Kathy at

● Job Help September 7 beginning at 1:15 pm at both the Canton and Waynesville
Libraries. Haywood County NCWorks Career Center staff will be on hand in the computer area
to assist with activities such as job search, resume preparation, and basic computer skills. For

• Construction Zone! Friday, September 7 and Friday, September 21 at 4 p.m. at the Canton
Library. The library will supply LEGO® building blocks, kids supply the imagination! For
children ages 6-12. For more information, please call (828) 648-2924.
• The Second Tuesday Movie Club Tuesday, September 11, at 2 p.m. at the Waynesville Library.
Popcorn, water and movie licensing fees are generously provided by the Friends of the Library.

• Music & Dance in Haywood County Tuesday, September 11 at 4:30pm at the Canton Library.
Join us for a fun history of music and dance in Canton Area of Haywood County. Presented by
the Canton History Museum and the Canton Library.
• Back in Control: New Ways to think about Chronic Pain on Thursday September 13 at
10am and Thursday September 20 at 10am at the Waynesville Library. This two session
workshop presented by Sheila Kaye, MSW is based on information found in the book, BACK in
Control by Dr. David Hanscom. Join this intriguing discussion and learn the tools for relief from
pain, anger and isolation. Paper and pens will be provided but if you have a favorite journal or
notebook, bring it! The Waynesville Library has a copy of Dr. Hanscom’s book if you would like
to check it out prior to the workshop. Registration is required. 828-356-2507

Library. Join champion chess player Bruce Goodwin to practice your chess skills. Ages 8-108

• Canton Library Sunday Concert with the Coffee Branch Band Sunday, September 16 at
3pm A local favorite from Haywood County NC playing bluegrass and old time gospel music.
