Sixth grade science and social studies involves abstract

ideas and concepts that are new to scholars at this level.

As a result, these two subjects prove to be quite
th
challenging for scholars. Therefore, 6 -grade teachers
have decided to integrate science and social studies into

the morning literacy block. This will allow for more

interactive assignments and give scholars more time to

present presentations on what they have researched,
explored, and learned.

Lesson Plans

Lesson outlines for each day of instruction may be
accessed from the “Schedules and Lesson Outlines” menu

located on Mr. Carlson’s school website. Each daily entry

includes class schedules and lesson plan outlines. This

information is provided for administrators, parents, and

scholars who were absent so that they may make-up the
work in a timely manner at their convenience.

Note: Curriculum may be added or deleted, at the

discretion of the teacher, as the need arises. If the lesson

plan is changed, the above-mentioned document will
immediately be updated. Also, anything related and

relevant to the instruction and activities of the classroom

are documented on the above-mentioned website… refer

to it often if you want to stay abreast of what your child is

learning and doing in my classroom.
