It’s hard to believe that another whole year has passed, and I am beginning my third season at Bocaire
already! The Professional Staff, along with the Men’s and Women’s Golf Committees, have been hard at
work all summer preparing. We have an exciting tournament schedule planned and expanded
instructional offerings are beginning.
The Golf Professional Staff now included four PGA Professionals with Antonio Onyon as Director of
Instruction, Albert Kurtz as Head Golf Professional and Brent Hutchinson has joined the Golf Professional
Staff as the First Assistant Golf Professional. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a PGA
Member and has been a wonderful addition thus far. His primary areas of focus at Bocaire include the
Women’s Golf League and Junior Golf. Antonio and Brent are leading the charge on Junior Golf and
have been steadily growing our participation numbers each week. We now have offerings for all levels
of Junior Golf, from pure beginners to aspiring High School and Collegiate players.
Along with our traditional Junior Golf Camps around the Holidays, there are two new Junior Golf
Programs offered at Bocaire. For our beginning junior players, we offer an After School Program on
Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 4:00pm – 5:00pm and a Saturday Morning Clinic from
9:30am – 10:00am (Ages 3-6) and 10:00am – 11:00am (Ages 7-13). For the more advanced junior
players, we offer the Bocaire Junior Golf Academy from 4:00pm – 5:00pm (Monday – Friday). In the
Junior Academy, our Junior Golfers will progress through a series of assessments to earn different
colored bag tags. This process is based off the colored belt ranking system in martial arts and will teach
our junior players way more than just how to hit the golf ball. They are working on all aspects of the
game including putting, chipping, pitching, course management, rules, etiquette and speed training.
For more information on our Junior Golf or Instructional Programs, informational pamphlets are available
in the Golf Shop and electronic copies are available in the “Golf Weekly Reminders” email as well as the
Bocaire Website.
Please let me know if there is anything that my staff or I can do to make your golfing experience at
Bocaire even more enjoyable.
Thank you,
Corey Johnson, PGA
Director of Golf
