Stand Up for the Profession

• You are in a good position to know what’s

needed for a safe, high quality surgical care.

• Be an advocate for the profession, not only in

words, but also through day to day actions,

personal conduct, behaviour and relations

with colleagues and other staff,

• Maintaining safe patient centred care.

Declare Acceptable Conflict

• Cooperating with industry does not have to

cloud one’s judgement, guide their actions,

influence their preferences or choices.

• Declaring any potential conflict when it

exists, can help clear the air, minimise the

doubts as to the exact surgeons’ reasoning,

thoughts or motives.
