The figure and throne carved from a block
of hard wood, the monk modelled seated in
padmasana, with a robe over one shoulder,
the right arm raised, the left hand cradling
an alms bowl, all raised on a double-lotus
throne, painted in cold gold, the reverse with
a Tibetan inscription. 15cm (5 7/8in) high

robes open at the chest, the serene face
flanked with long earlobes and crowned with
a typical raised ushnisha, the hands raised in
mudra, all raised on a double-lotus throne.

SAKYAMUNI

The deity clad in long robes open at the
chest, with floral motifs at the hems, the
serene face flanked with long earlobes, and
crowned with an ushnisha covered in tightly
coiled hair ringlets, seated in padmasana with
the hands in bhumisparsa mudra, all raised on
a double lotus throne.
