FENG XIANG YU Ji
Tientsin [Tianjin]
circa 1880-1930
Feng Xiang Yu Chi was a Later branch of the
Feng Xiang original retail silversmith,
however, Yu Chi is also known to have been
an operating workshop in Tientsin that also
featured alongside other retail silversmiths’
marks such as Khe Cheong.
Contrary to popular belief, the present-day
Jewellery chain in China called Feng Xiang
has no connection with the original, despite
claims to the contrary.
An unusual round globe trophy engraved
with the five continents, the oceans
including their names in Chinese and the
trade routes from European and American
ports to China and the Near East.
Perched upon the globe is a large spread
winged eagle; the gone is mounted upon a
carved hardwood base.
The trophy carries the inscription:

The trophy carries the combined silver mark
of Feng Xiang Yu Ji
