Both the tankard [above] and the pagoda-form pepperette [right]
demonstrate the high level of workmanship and detailing Guang Li
            pieces are invested with.

Almost every Chinese retail silversmith of the latter quarter of the 19th
century and early 20th century had tankards and pagoda condiment
items in their repertoire, but these late 19th century examples from
Guang Li are superb. As with many Chinese Export Silver tankards of
this era, this particular piece is double skinned.
Guang Li was not only an obvious house of quality, it was also headed
by someone who had an eye for detail and an eye for creating
innovative variations on traditional themes. Sadly, Guang Li items are
            far too rare.
