An interesting piece of Hung Chong silver; this has to be from the early years of Hung Chong since it carries
            their pseudo hallmark.
            The  cup  bears  an  inscription  “AMOY
            RACES  1863,  Farewell  Cup,  won  by  Mr
            Wilson’s  SHERRY  &  BITTERS”.  That
            said,  this  cup  is  definitely  older  than
            1863  and  is  more  likely  to  be  between
            1840-1850.  The  style  pre-dates  the
            theatrical  Victorian  “confection”  style
            Hung Chong eventually  evolved into.
