KUI KEE
Oriental Avenue, Bangkok, Siam [now Thailand]
circa 1900-present day
Kiu Kee silver often appears without the word “SIAM”
and because of this is mistaken for Chinese Export
Silver and sometimes confused with the retail
silversmiths Siu Kee and Wai Kee, both of Hong Kong.
Kiu Kee silver, though, is generally decorated with
motifs that are not Chinese, as these two small
cylindrical boxes demonstrate. Kiu Kee was a large
producer of flatware.
