circa 1880-1915
QIU JI marks for Wang Hing
Qiu Ji was an important master silversmith of extraordinary skill running his own workshop who appears on
items of Wang Hing silver fairly often. The mark also appears on the somewhat enigmatic mark LOCK [Lock
Hing - a rival house and neighbour to Wang Hing & Co] as well as other prominent retail silversmiths of the
same period.
Large ornate trays seem to have been a speciality; the following two examples are Qiu Ji for Wang Hing &
Company.
