T’OU SÈ WÈ [AKA: TUSHANWAN; ZI-KA-WEI]
            Tushanwan, Shanghai
            circa 1900-1940

T’ou Se We was a unique phenomenon in China. A Jesuit-run orphanage that trained its children in various
visual and tactile arts connected with the European the Arts & Crafts ethos. T’ou Se We had its own silver
workshops producing Chinese silver that was unmistakably recognisable as belonging to this Shanghai
            institution.
T’ou Se We silver is extremely rare and should be regarded as being of historical value as well as highly
            collectible.
