A nod to the Art Deco with this swing-handle reticulated basket having a very “Odean-esque” handle and Tack
Hing’s two favourite decorative motifs - the chrysanthemum and bamboo.

It is obvious that by the mid-1920’s, Tack Hing had arrived at a style that had its own individual stamp firmly on
it, was commercial yet retained it’s quality - a style that sits on the fence of the traditional Western neo-
classicism, has a hint of the Art Deco about it and has just enough Chinese decorative treatment to make it
popular with foreign residents, tourists and some of the fast-growing Chinese middle class.
