A PAIR OF ZITAN LANTERN STANDS,
DENGTAI
18TH-19TH CENTURY
Each vertical upright is fanked by spandrels
carved in low relief with chilong rising from
solid humped feet, and supports a square
platform at the top with rounded notched
corners and beaded edges. The platform
is further supported by hanging spandrels
carved in low relief with writhing chilong.
