A GILT-DECORATED BLACK LACQUER CABINET
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The rectangular cabinet has two small doors positioned above two
larger doors, each richly painted with scenes of lakeside pavilions
nestled in a mountainous landscape, and enclosed by borders painted
with lotus meander. The doors open to reveal the shelved interior.
The sides are painted with shaped medallions depicting birds in
fight amidst blossoms which are reserved on a diaper ground. The
back is inlaid in silver wire with a Qianlong mark and a small carved
Qianlong mark.

A QIANGJIN AND TIANQI LACQUER KANG TABLE
18TH CENTURY
The rectangular top is decorated with an interlocking lotus and
double-ruyi design, within a foliate scrollwork border and archaistic
scrolls and ruyi on the edge. The narrow waist is decorated with
clouds and foliate scrollwork, the shoulder with lotus lappets, and the
openwork, ruyi-form apron and legs with dragons, lotus, and peony
scrolling.
