A CARVED AGATE FIGURE
OF A HORSE
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The agate is naturalistically modelled as
a recumbent horse with its head turned
backwards, hind legs tucked neatly under
the body and long tail swept to one side.
The mane is finely incised into clusters
falling to either side of its neck.
The translucent material is of a caramel-
brown tone.
