A CARVED WHITE JADE ‘SQUIRREL AND DOUBLE
GOURD’ CONJOINED VASE
Carved as a gu-shaped vase conjoined with a smaller rock-form vase extending
downwards to form an integral rocky base. The gu vase is carved in high relief
with intertwining vines bearing double gourds and playful squirrels, flanked on
the neck with a pair of lingzhi-form handles with loose rings. The stone is of an
even white tone with minor mottling and a soft polish.
