A BAMBOO LIU QING ‘LANDSCAPE’ WRIST

SIGNED ZHANG XIHUANG, DATED RENZI YEAR,
CORRESPONDING TO 1792 OR 1852 AND OF THE PERIOD
The gently arched surface is carved in the liu qing technique,
partially reserving the bamboo skin, to depict fishermen and
pavilions nestled in a landscape scene, below pine trees and
mountains in the distance. It is carved with an inscription
followed by the signature Zhang Xihuang and a seal reading
Zhang Shi.
