A WHITE JADE archer’s
RING

QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)

The ring is carved on the exterior with
a band of archaistic dragons interspersed
with the characters Qianlong nian zhi,
‘Made during the Qianlong reign’. The
stone is of an even white tone.

A CARVED WHITE JADE
‘MYTHICAL BEAST’ SEAL

LATE MING DYNASTY

The seal of square section is surmounted
by a recumbent mythical beast, bixi, with
its bushy tail and tortoise shell finely
detailed. The base is carved with a four-
character seal mark.
