A CARVED TIXI LACQUER RECTANGULAR
TRAY
17th century
Supported on a low foot with upturned sides,
the interior crisply carved through layers of dark
brown and red lacquer with two concentric rows
of pommel scrolls, nine along each row, encircled
along the sides with a further band of pommel
scrolls, the exterior with formal scrolls, Japanese
wood box.
