AN ARCHAISTIC BRONZE TWIN-HANDLED
TRIPOD CENSER AND STAND
17TH/18TH CENTURY
明末清初 銅「萬壽無疆」三足爐連座
One side of the compressed globular censer is cast
with the four characters wan shou wu jiang, ‘boundless
longevity’. The archaistic handles are shaped in the
form of animal heads. The base bears an apocryphal
six-character Xuande mark. The stand is shaped as an
open-form fower, supported on three short feet.

A BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER
MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
明十七世紀 銅瑞獅鈕獸耳三足爐
The censer is supported on three animal-head cabriole
legs, cast to the globular body with a continuous
stylised lotus scroll, and applied with two mythical
beast handles. The cover is decorated with a similar
reticulated lotus scroll design and is surmounted by a
lion fnial. There is an apocryphal Xuande mark to the
base.
