A PALE CELADON JADE WINGED MYTHICAL BEAST
MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
明十七世紀 青白玉瑞獸
The winged beast is carved with a single horn and a ferocious expression. The
legs are tucked under the body and the bifurcated tail sweeps over its hind
quarters. The stone is of a pale tone with a snowy-white mottling and minor
russet areas to the underside.

The horse is carved reclining with its head turned to the rear facing a small
monkey seated on its back, the legs tucked under the body. The stone is of a a
greyish tone with some fne speckling.
