A LARGE FAMILLE ROSE ‘SANDUO’ FISH BOWL

清十九世紀 粉彩纏枝蓮紋大缸
The large bowl is of globular shape with deep rounded sides. It is decorated to the exterior with large lotus
blooms containing the character ji for auspiciousness fanked by further lotus and leafy tendrils amongst
cloud scrolls, interspersed with groups of pomegranate, peach and fnger citron, sanduo, all between
bands of lappets to the mouth and foot rims enclosing fowers and bats. The interior and the base are
glazed in turquoise.
