    TWO SMALL CARVED AGATE PENDANTS
    19TH CENTURY

    清十九世紀 瑪瑙靈芝及瑪瑙貓戲蝶一組兩件

    One pendant is a Suzhou agate carving of a dragonfy and a smaller insect resting on a lingzhi sprig with
    the characters da ji to one side. The stone is of a pale translucent grey with some dark brown areas used
    to highlight the insects. The other is a moss agate pendant carved in the form of a recumbent cat and a
    butterfy on a leaf. The stone is of a translucent pale greenish-grey tone with some small areas of dark
    green inclusions.

    AN AGATE ‘MONKEY AND PEACH’ PENDANT
    18TH CENTURY

    清十八世紀 瑪瑙鏤雕靈猴獻壽珮

    The pendant is delicately carved and reticulated with a monkey beside branches bearing peaches and
    lingzhi. The stone ranges from honey-russet to brownish-grey tones, with the darker areas skilfully utilised
    to highlight the depiction of the monkey.
